Honouring the wager he made with Rochester Mayor Malik D. Evans, Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuk is sending Hawkins Cheezies and some Signal Brewery brewskis south of the border.
The two mayors made the bet last week prior to the Calder Cup first round playoff between the Belleville Senators and Rochester Americans.
Panciuk promised Cheezies and Signal beer if the B-Sens lost while Evans agreed to send Zweigle’s Hot Dogs and Genesee Brew House beers should the Americans lose.
Rochester won the best-of-three series in two straight.
In a Monday afternoon Tweet, Mayor Panciuk stated, “Though things with our Belleville Senators did not end the way we had hoped, we are very proud of the season we had. As a man of my word, I am honouring my wager with Rochester Mayor Malik D. Evans and mailing Hawkins’ Cheezies & Signal Brewery to his office. Should we find ourselves in the same situation next season, I look forward to enjoying Zweigle’s Hot Dogs & Genesee Brew House Beers!”
Rochester is facing Utica in the next round.
