A drug and firearm investigation that began in Northumberland County resulted in the execution of a search warrant in Belleville and the arrest of a youth from Scarborough.
Northumberland OPP say the investigation led to the search at a Belleville address on the evening of May 4.
A loaded handgun, ammunition, 29 grams of fentanyl and 19 grams of cocaine were seized.
The Scarborough youth arrested faces the following charges:
- Possession of proceeds
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine
- Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
- Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose- two counts
- Breach of a firearms regulation (storage)
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Fail to comply with sentence order
- Possession of a prohibited device – two counts
The accused, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been remanded into custody.
