This Halloween, the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation (TMHF) wants you to get dressed up and support a good cause.
Jennifer Rainbird and Arlene La Rosa, TMHF gala committee co-chairs, introduced the BooBash, and announced a fundraising campaign in support of a new mammography screening unit at Trenton Memorial Hospital at Quinte West’s regular council meeting on Monday night.
“Breast cancer is the leading cancer in women, but it also doesn’t discriminate,” said La Rosa.
Last year, there were 3,500 mammograms completed at TMH.
La Rosa said the new machine comes with a cost of approximately $700,000 and they expect it will be a two-year campaign to raise the funds required.
This year’s gala will be virtual, set for Saturday, October 29.
Rainbird said with breast cancer, early detection is key.
The BooBash flag is flying at City Hall, and there will also be a banner across Dundas Street to raise awareness of the campaign.
