A Belleville man is facing multiple charges following a firearms and drug investigation in Trent Hills.
Just before 3 a.m. Thursday, Northumberland OPP conducted a traffic stop after observing a Highway Traffic Act offence.
As a result of the investigation, the officer discovered a loaded handgun and a taser, as well as what appeared to be drugs, including cocaine, cannabis, and methamphetamine pills.
Fifty-year-old Wade Smart has been charged with multiple criminal offences.
He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
