More than 400 jobs will be funded this year in Hastings, Lennox & Addington through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
HL&A MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman announced her riding is receiving $1.5 million in funding for the program.
It will provide 178 employers with wage subsidies to support 430 jobs for youth aged 15-30.
Kramp-Neuman says she heard a consistent message from the employers she spoke with – that the program contributes greatly to communities by supporting local businesses and giving young Canadians quality work experience and much-needed income.
