COVID-19 hospitalizations in Hastings Prince Edward increased over the weekend.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reported 26 people in hospital on Monday with two in intensive care.
On Friday there were 18 in hospital and three in the ICU.
Monday’s dashboard showed 209 new high-risk cases of COVID-19.
Active cases sit at 495, an increase of 60 since Friday’s report.
Public health reports 53 people have died since the start of the pandemic.
There are 19 outbreaks in high-risk settings.
In Northumberland, the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported 60 new cases on Monday.
There are 101 active cases.
Provincially on Monday, there were 1,455 people in hospital with COVID-19, 219 of them in intensive care.
The province also reported two new deaths from the virus.
There were 2,028 new COVID-19 cases, but access to PCR testing is restricted.
