Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Quinte region today as we can expect to see wind gusts up to 70 km/h.
The wind is expected to pick up late this morning as a cold front moves through the area and the strong winds are expected to persist through the early afternoon.
Wind gusts for the remainder of the day will be near 60 km/h and will ease slowly through Thursday evening.
Strong winds combined with saturated ground conditions may make it easier for damage to trees to occur.
