The number of new high-risk COVID-19 cases continues to climb locally.
The Hastings Prince Edward District Health Unit is reporting 170 new cases today, up from 148 on Monday.
This brings the total active case count to 497 in the two counties. Limited access to PCR testing means the numbers reported by the health unit may not accurately reflect true COVID-19 case counts.
The number of people in the hospital remains unchanged at 21, with four people in the Intensive Care Unit
The number of outbreaks has also increased to 19, up one from Monday.
Statistics regarding vaccine shots and booster shots remains unchanged locally. Third-dose boosters have been administered to over 89,000 residents and 83% of those aged five and up are fully vaccinated.
