Killaloe OPP have arrested one person in connection to numerous break and enters dating back to last fall.
Police say following their investigation, Paul Cummings, 45, of Bancroft has been charged with the criminal offences of:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (six counts)
- Break and enter (two counts)
- Trafficking in a controlled substance
- Fail to comply with a release order
- Fail to comply with probation (two counts)
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Pembroke, Ontario on April 19 in relation to the criminal charges.
On October 7, 2021, Killaloe OPP investigated a break and enter at a store located on John Street in the Township of Madawaska Valley. Four Honda generators were reported stolen.
On October 17, 2021 officers from the Bancroft OPP responded to the report of break, enter and theft at a storage unit facility on Highway 62 in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. Various household appliances were reported stolen.
Between October 28 and October 29, 2021 Bancroft OPP officers investigated several break and enters at properties on Kamaniskeg Lake Road in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. Two all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), a chainsaw and leaf blower were reported stolen.
On October 29, 2021 the Bancroft OPP received the report of a break, enter and theft on Maplewood Road in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. A utility terrain vehicle (UTV), generator, chainsaw and power tools were reported stolen.
Some of the property reported stolen has been recovered by police.
