Update at 11:06 a.m.:
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 9, murder suspect John McKenna was spotted in the 100 block of Montreal Street.
A foot pursuit ensued with members from General Patrol and he was located and arrested a short time later hiding in a shed on Raglan Road.
McKenna was taken into custody without incident. He appears before a Justice of the Peace this (April 10, 2022) morning.
Kingston Police thank the public, who provided information, for their assistance in locating and arresting this individual.
The Kingston Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted for murder.
The Major Crime Unit is looking for 26-year-old John McKenna, who is wanted for the murder of a 29-year-old man on Saturday.
McKenna was last seen on foot wearing a green jacket, dark jeans and running shoes and was in the area of Durham Street, near MacDonnell Street in downtown Kingston.
Police say McKenna should not be approached if seen and to call 911 if spotted.
