Building activity last month in Quinte West was down considerably from a year ago.
The building department reports 58 permits with a construction value of $6.2 million were issued in March compared to 70 permits worth $14.1 during the same month a year ago.
Sixteen permits valued at just $4 million were issued last month for new home construction.
The municipality earned just over $106,000 in development charges.
Year-to-date building numbers are down only slightly from 2021.
Between January 1 and March 31 of this year, the City of Quinte West issued 147 permits worth $25.4 million.
During the first three months of last year 159 permits worth $29.2 million were issued.
