New home construction fuelled much of the building activity in Prince Edward County in March.
Seventy-five permits with a construction value of $15.1 million were issued last month.
There were 97 permits issued in March 2021 but their construction value was only worth $11.7 million.
The County’s building report indicates 16 of last month’s permits were for new home construction, worth $11.2 million.
Year-to-date building activity is up as 204 permits worth $48.5 were issued during the first three months of the year compared to 192 permits with a construction value of $21.6 million during the same time last year.
Building permit fees have resulted in more than $276,000 for Prince Edward County so far this year.
