Two people have been charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life following an investigation.
The investigation, conducted under the direction of the Quinte West OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, began on February 5 after a young person required hospital treatment.
The couple from Quinte West were arrested March 28 and have since been released from custody. They are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Names will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
The child is now in alternate care and accommodations.
