Man purchased stolen vehicle
On March 23, 2022, at 2:30 p.m., police attended a Thurlow address regarding a stolen vehicle. The 69-year-old victim advised that he had purchased a vehicle privately from a person in Toronto and paid cash. The male advised that he was shown what he believed to be a valid ownership for the vehicle as well as valid identification from the seller. He completed the sale, and later attempted to register the vehicle in his name. At that time, he was advised that the vehicle was listed as stolen from a rental company in Toronto. Police attended and confirmed the vehicle was in fact the one registered as stolen. The vehicle was seized, and police forwarded the information to the Toronto Police Service for further investigation.
Trespassing at night
On March 23, 2022, at 9:30 p.m., police received a call regarding a male in the back yard of an east end residence. Officers arrived on scene and located the male in a garden shed. The male identified himself as 46-year-old Terrance Roberts and indicated that he had purchased the home and was moving in. Further investigation revealed that Roberts is of no fixed address and as a result was arrested for trespassing at night and breach of probation. He was released on an undertaking with a court date on April 28, 2022 in Belleville.
