Members of the Prince Edward County OPP responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 62 in Ameliasburgh Ward shortly before 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Officers responded alongside Hastings Quinte Paramedic Service to a vehicle that had entered the ditch. The driver was arrested at scene and taken to detachment for further testing. Jamie Lynch, age 31 from Prince Edward County, was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol con centration
The driver was released on an undertaking and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 6, 2022. They also had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of seven days.
