The community support for a Belleville family hit by tragedy in Florida has been overwhelming.
As of 4 o’clock this morning almost $350,000 had been raised in a GoFundMe campaign for the Pieter Kort family.
A van the family of six were in was hit from behind by a cement truck early Saturday morning near Jacksonville as they were returning from a March break vacation.
Two of Kort’s young daughters were killed in the crash. His wife Jamie and another daughter were critically injured and he and his son suffered serious injuries.
An investigation into the crash continues. The cement truck driver, a 48-year-old man from Gainesville was not injured.
