A house and attached garage were destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning in Centre Hastings.
Firefighters were called out shortly before 5 o’clock to the fire at 287 Thomasburg Road.
The home was fully engulfed in flames when Centre Hastings and Tweed crews arrived. The residents got out of the house safely but a parrot was lost in the blaze.
Damage to the wood frame bungalow is estimated at around half a million dollars. An investigation into a cause is underway.
