Two OPP officers were allegedly assaulted while responding to a report of a single vehicle collision in Deseronto Saturday evening.
Lennox and Addington OPP arrived to the scene on Main Street around 6 p.m. and observed the driver showing signs of impairment.
During the officers’ interaction with the driver, the driver assaulted two of them.
Thirty-two-year-old William Elam of Napanee faces two charges of operation while impaired and two counts of assault a peace officer.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 12.
His licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
