Two people have been arrested in connection with a theft and dangerous driving incident in Trenton last month.
Quinte West OPP say on February 23, a female left a Dundas Street West convenience store without paying for some merchandise.
A witness followed the suspect into the parking lot where the woman got into a pickup driven by a male.
The witness received significant injuries when they were allegedly struck by the pickup truck as it fled the scene.
Police sought warrants for two individuals through the investigation and assistance from the public.
Last Wednesday, the male suspect attended the detachment and was arrested.
The female was arrested on Friday after police responded to a shoplifting incident at a 2nd Dug Hill Road business in Trenton.
Twenty-eight-year-old Mathew Gardiner and 30-year-old Ashley Fletcher, both from Quinte West are each charged with:
Robbery and wounding, dangerous operation causing bodily harm and fail to stop at accident causing bodily harm.
Additionally, Fletcher has been charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking, as well as theft under $5000.
Both accused were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on April 14.
