There has been a tragic incident in Florida, with a connection to the Quinte region.
Several sources to Quinte News say that a Belleville family of six was in a van involved in a crash in Clay County, Florida.
A 13-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl in the van were killed, two other occupants critically injured, and the driver and one more occupant were seriously injured according to News 4 Jacksonville.
News 4 Jacksonville stated the following:
The Highway Patrol said a sport utility vehicle, a van and a concrete pump truck were travelling north on US 301 in the right lane, and as the SUV and the van accelerated from the traffic signal at the intersection of CR 218, the truck collided with the rear of the van, pushing the van into the back of the SUV.
A total of nine people have been reportedly injured in the crash.
The names of those involved have not officially been released.
