It may seem like an unlikely partnership but it’s one Belleville Police Chief Mike Callaghan believes brings joy to the department.
Belleville Police Service has partnered with the Belleville Art Association and art by 30 local artists is now installed in three locations at the new police station.
The partnership developed after Belleville Art Association member Jan Coombs arranged for six pieces of art to be displayed at the station’s grand opening in September.
Art pieces will be exchanged bi-annually and BPS members have the opportunity to purchase pieces.
Chief Callaghan calls the display positive and uplifting and good for the members to see on a daily basis.
