We have an update on the recent Polar Plunge event held recently in east end Belleville.
A total of $6,915.00 was raised by around 25 brave souls who jumped into the freezing waters of the Bay of Quinte to raise money for Special Olympics.
That total was second highest of all Ontario police services who took part in the annual event.
About 25 jumpers from Belleville Police Service, Belleville Fire and Rescue, Hastings-Quinte Paramedics, and Belleville Probation and Parole participated.
Organizer Belleville Police Service Inspector Sheri Meeks says next year’s plunge will be bigger and better.
