On March 15, 2022 as a result of a drug trafficking investigation, members of Project Renewal with the assistance of the Belleville Police Emergency Response Team and the Quinte West OPP Community Street Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances search warrant at a local motel room.
Investigators arrested and charged Russell Barriage (45 years old) of Belleville and Melissa Gould (34 years old) of Belleville.
Police located a quantity of cocaine as well as a quantity of Canadian currency. Russell Barriage was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and breach of probation.
Melissa Gould was charged with Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession pf the proceed of crime.
Both Barriage and Gould were released from custody on a Form 10 pending a court appearance scheduled for April 11, 2022.
