Prince Edward County OPP are asking parents and guardians to speak with their children about the dangers of tying up police and emergency services after a missing person report turned out to be false.
Last Tuesday evening Prince Edward County OPP responded to a third party report of a missing child in the Inkerman Avenue area in Picton.
The caller said police a youth told neighbours a child was missing.
Police resources were focused in the area attempting to track down the missing individual and as a result, it was confirmed there was no missing child.
OPP say its important emergency crews available for emergencies.
