A serious crash has closed Highway 401 westbound between Belleville and Trenton.
Around 3:45 Saturday morning a tractor trailer and an SUV collided on the 401 west near Wallbridge-Loyalist Road.
Several people were inside of the SUV and Quinte West firefighters needed to use the jaws of life to get people out of the vehicle.
OPP and 5 ambulances responded to the scene. One person was transported to hospital in Kingston.
It’s not known when Highway 401 westbound between Belleville and Trenton will reopen to traffic.
