Belleville police responded to 60 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5 a.m. on March 10, 2022 to 5 a.m. on March 11, 2022.
Arrest on Warrants
Belleville police observed a cyclist riding down the road without a light just before midnight on March 10. Police stopped and spoke to the person who identified himself as 36-year-old Belleville resident Gordon Green. A record check indicated that Green was wanted by Belleville police for breaching his probation. Green was arrested and held for a show cause hearing on March 11.
Theft
Belleville police were called to a commercial business on Dundas Street East shortly after 11 a.m. on March 10 in regards to a theft in progress. A female in her 50s was observed attempting to steal alcohol. She was detained by employees and held for police. Police attended and at the store’s request and the female was issued a trespass notice.
Disturbance
Belleville police attended on Front Street in regards to a fight in the early morning hours. Upon police arrival, the disturbance was over. However, one involved party continued to attempt to fight and refused to leave the area. A 25-year-old male Belleville resident was arrested for public intoxication and removed from the area. He was later released on a Provincial Offence Notice for public intoxication.
