Belleville police responded to 64 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5 a.m. on March 7, 2022 to 5 a.m. on March 8, 2022.
Assault
On March 7, 2022 at 5:45 p.m., Belleville police were called to the east end of the city regarding an assault. Officers attended and learned that a male had assaulted anothe,r resulting in minor injuries and had left the scene. The male was located nearby and arrested. As a result, 49-year-old David Robertson of no fixed address was charged with assault and released with an April 7, 2022 court date.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On March 7, 2022 at 4 p.m., Belleville police were dispatched to Oak Ridge Boulevard regarding a single-vehicle collision. Officers arrived on the scene and determined that a vehicle had left the roadway and collided with two parked vehicles in a driveway. All three vehicles were no longer driveable and the lone occupant of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. There are no charges at this time but police continue to investigate.
Suspended Driver
On March 7, 2022 at 4 p.m., an officer on general patrol observed a female driver operating a vehicle who was known to be suspended. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver was confirmed to be on two different licence suspension orders. The 39-year-old Frankford resident was charged with two counts of driving while suspended and was given an April 4 Provincial Court date.
Warrants
On March 7, 2022 at 1 p.m., Belleville police were called to a disturbance in the west end of the city. An officer arrived on the scene and located the two involved parties. There were no charges required regarding the incident but one of the females involved currently has two outstanding warrants for theft, assault, and failing to appear for court. As a result, 24-year-old Justice Herrington of Belleville was arrested and held for a show cause hearing on March 8, 2022.
