A new layer of excitement has been added to this week’s fundraising Polar Plunge. The Belleville Fire and Emergency Services’ Polar Plunge team has been challenged by Inspector Sheri Meeks and Chief Mike Callaghan from Belleville Police Services to brave the elements with them this Friday, March 11 to raise funds for Special Olympics Ontario.
What: Community Polar Plunge
Where: Bay of Quinte, just west of the Herchimer boat launch behind the Quinte Rowing Club
When: Friday, March 11 at 1 p.m.
“Nothing like a little competition to take the energy up a notch and hopefully help to raise more funds for this great cause,” said Monique Belair, Belleville Fire Chief and Director of Fire and Emergency Services. “We have several brave members on our ‘Team Goosebumps’ in addition to the three fire department members who will be in the water in dry suits for safety purposes. So please, form a team. Sponsor a team. Or simply come and cheer us on!”
Also competing will be members of Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services and Belleville Probation and Parole.
