A Quinte West man will spend the weekend in jail awaiting his day in court.
On Thursday night, Prince Edward County OPP noticed a person acting suspiciously and when officers approached, the man fled on foot.
He was arrested after a short foot chase.
An investigation revealed the man was wanted for previous offences.
Paul Johnston, 32, is charged with four counts of mischief under $5,000, two counts of failure to comply with a release order and resisting a peace officer.
He appeared in court for a bail hearing today (Friday) and was remanded into custody pending a court date on Monday in Belleville.
