A well known community leader has made a donation to the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward.
Former Belleville Mayor Ross McDougall took a tour of the Animal Care and Community Education Centre prior to making a $35,000 donation to the It Takes Heart Capital campaign.
“This is about community building,” said McDougall. “The new centre will enhance the quality of life in the entire region. It speaks to the greater good, not just of animals, but of all of us and McDougall Insurance is pleased to support those efforts.”
Staff and animals are expected to move into the new facility in June from their current location on Avonlough Road.
