City of Belleville Planning staff are recommending approval be given for rezoning to allow a hotel to be built on Millennium Parkway.
The proposal has been a controversial one from day one back in 2020 when the developers wanted to build a five-storey hotel.
Later they proposed a four-storey structure but that was also turned down by the city’s Planning Advisory Committee.
Residents along Cloverleaf Drive passionately objected to such a large building in the neighbourhood.
The latest plan is for a three-storey hotel which would meet the height requirements in existing zoning regulations.
The matter will be dealt with at the Planning Advisory Committee’s virtual meeting Monday (March 7) at 5:30.
The detailed staff report can be seen in the committee’s agenda package.
