Almost 600 fans enjoyed a great hockey game last night in Wellington.
In game 5 of the Hasty Ps Cup fans enjoyed end to end action with the Dukes holding
on for a 5 to 3 win over the Trenton Golden Hawks.
Wellington now leads the series 3 games to 2.
The Dukes scored 3 unanswered goals in the first period with Trenton outscoring Wellington 2 to 1 in the second.
The G Hawks scored one in the third making it 4 to 3 in the third but an empty-netter sealed the deal for the Dukes.
The game was played in just 2 hours and 4 minutes and for the most part the official’s whistles were silent as there were only 2
minor penalties in the entire game, one for each team.
Scoring for Wellington were first star Corbin Roach, Will Mitchell, Barrett Joynt, Jacob Vreugdenhill, and Emmet Pierce.
Goals for the Golden Hawks came from Aiden MacIntosh, Devin Mauro, and Austin D’Orazio.
Trenton plays again today (Saturday), travelling to Minden to take on the Haliburton County Huskies.
