BELOW IS AN ADVISORY ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA AT 6:17 p.m. WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 24
Winter weather travel advisory in effect.
Hazard:
Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm.
When:
Friday morning through Friday evening.
Discussion:
A developing low pressure centre will bring a swath of snow to Southern Ontario beginning Friday morning and persisting throughout most of the day. Communities along the St. Lawrence River and near Lake Ontario are expected to receive the highest snowfall accumulations.
Impacts:
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
