Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting a large jump in the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19.
Friday’s dashboard shows 23 people are currently in hospital with two in the intensive care unit.
That is up from 13 in hospital and two in ICU Wednesday.
Two more deaths have also been reported bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 37.
Public Health does not say if those deaths are recent, noting on its dashboard that the count is subject to change as cause of death data becomes available.
Ninety-two new high-risk cases were reported Friday.
The number of active cases fell to 364 from 379 on Wednesday.
There are nine outbreaks in high-risk settings.
Eighty-two percent of eligible HPE residents aged five and up have received two doses of a vaccine and 52% have received a third dose booster.
