A long-time sponsor of HSHPE’s Raise the Woof annual fundraiser stepped forward to pledge its support for Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward’s It Takes Heart Capital Campaign. Lloyd and Wendy McCoy and son Jeremy from Northstar Refrigeration Ltd. of Marmora visited the new HSHPE building site February 16, to present their gift of $100,000.
The McCoys are long-time and multi-generational supporters of HSHPE.
“We are very pleased to play a role in supporting this much needed community project,” stated Lloyd McCoy, President of Northstar Refrigeration.
“We have been honoured to work with HSHPE in the past and Northstar and our family looks forward to many more years of continued support,” added Wendy.
“Northstar Refrigeration and the McCoy family are true examples of good-hearted people,” commented Peter Malone, Capital Campaign Committee member, in accepting the cheque. “Their support is exemplary and this latest generous donation will play an important part in our efforts to fund the construction of the new centre. I commend McCoys and their commitment to support animal welfare in our community and I urge other families and corporations to do the same.”
