After a COVID-forced hiatus last year, the Tweed Winter Carnival makes its return this Family Day weekend.
Lead organizer Jennet Honey says it is a scaled down version but there are still plenty of events.
“Our polar plunge is back which is a huge fundraiser. We have our demolition derby on Sunday. We have a craft sale on Saturday. New this year is rock ‘n bowl, Land O’Lanes Bowling. Karaoke at the Legion.”
This is the third year for the polar plunge which raises funds for local charities.
“So this year it’s going to our Emily Trudeau Splash Pad. Fifty percent of the donations raised goes to that and then the plungers are able to choose where the other 50% goes.”
There will also be fireworks Sunday night at the Tweed fairgrounds.
