Two people appeared in Belleville court today (Wednesday) after a drug investigation in Quinte West.
Quinte West OPP stopped a vehicle around 10 p.m. on February 15 on the 401 east off-ramp at Glen Miller Road in Trenton.
Two people were arrested and a search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a quantity of suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a makeshift weapon and cash.
Mathew Artwell, 20, and Amos Benson, 23, both of Scarborough have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of the proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Members the Quinte West and Central Hastings OPP Community Street Crime Units, assisted by patrol officers were involved in the traffic stop.
