The Belleville General Hospital Foundation will be asking Hastings County for substantial financial support to improve cancer care locally Tuesday.
Foundation representatives will make a presentation to county council’s Finance, Property, and Personnel Committee asking for $500,000 to be spread over five years.
The money would be used to buy two nuclear medicine cameras to aid in the diagnosis of cancer at the Dr. Douglas A. MacIntosh Cancer Clinic at Belleville General.
The total cost of the cameras and renovations is estimated at close to $3 million.
