Belleville police responded to 106 calls for service between 5 a.m. on February 12, 2022 and 5 a.m. on February 14, 2022.
On February 12, 2022 at 5 p.m., Belleville police were notified of a male who was breaching a number of his conditions in relation to previous domestic charges. Officers located the 58-year-old Belleville man and took him into custody. The accused is facing three counts of breach of court conditions and has been held in custody for a show cause hearing scheduled on February 14 at 11 a.m.
Arrested on Warrants
On February 13, 2022 at 9:30 p.m., Belleville police were notified by Quinte West OPP that they had a male in custody on outstanding warrants for charges in Belleville. Quinte West OPP turned over 38-year-old Cameron McFarlane of Belleville to Belleville officers. The accused is facing two counts of fail to attend court and two counts of breach of probation and was held for a show cause hearing scheduled for February 14 at 11 a.m.
On February 13, 2022 at 10:50 p.m., Belleville police located a male suspect, 40-year-old Shane McFarland of Belleville who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The accused took off on foot fleeing from the officers. Police caught up to him a short distance away and took him into custody without further incident. The accused is facing a charge of failing to comply with a release order and was held for a show cause hearing scheduled for February 14 at 11 a.m.
Breach Charges
Belleville, ON – On February 14th, 2022 at 12:50am, Belleville Police conducted a traffic stop on Bridge St. E. for a Highway Traffic Act violation. Upon investigation, police located a 35-year-old Belleville man in the vehicle who they found breaching his release orders. The accused was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Breach of Release Order. The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court this morning, February 14th, for a Show Cause Hearing.
Domestic Assault
On February 14, 2022 at 2:05 a.m., Belleville police responded to a domestic dispute in progress on Coleman St. Police investigated and determined that there were grounds for a domestic assault charge. A 32-year-old male from Belleville was taken into custody. He was later released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on February 28, 2022. The victim did not suffer any serious injury and did not require medical attention. The identity of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
RIDE
The Belleville Police Service conducted a RIDE program on February 13, 2022 between the hours of 12 p.m. and 10 p.m. During the program, Belleville officers checked just over 500 vehicles and issued one roadside breath demand. No criminal charges were laid.
