The number of active cases of COVID-19 in people considered high-risk is up considerably in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
Wednesday public health reported 144 new cases of COVID-19 in the high-risk population bringing the number of active infections to 384, up from 311 Monday.
The number of people in hospital with COVID is up one, to eleven. Two of those persons are in the ICU.
The number of outbreaks in a high-risk setting is up four, to sixteen, with one of the new outbreaks being at Seasons Retirement Home in Quinte West.
Meanwhile 52% of the Hastings-Prince Edward’s population five years of age and older have received three doses of vaccine.
There were 11 new high-risk cases in Northumberland Wednesday along with 57 active cases.
