City of Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuk visited the new site of Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward Tuesday morning to present Board of Directors Chair Donna Endicott with a cheque for $50,000.
The money is part of the city’s $1 million pledge to the Humane Society’s “It Takes Heart” Campaign raising money for their new building, currently under construction on Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd.
Phase 1 & 2 of the build, which includes the $6.2 million Animal Care & Adoption Centre and Community & Education Centre, is expected to be complete in July.
Phase 3 will include the addition of an on-site veterinary clinic.
There is currently no timeline or projected cost for the third phase.
