Belleville police responded to 165 calls for service between 5 a.m. on February 4, 2022 and 5 a.m. on February 7, 2022.
Domestic Mischief
On February 4, 2022 at 9 a.m., Belleville police responded to a west end residence regarding a break and enter. Responding officers learned that the ex-boyfriend of the complainant had broken a window to get into her residence and stolen some of her property. As a result of the investigation a 26-year-old male Belleville resident was arrested and charged with domestic mischief and break and enter. He was released with a court date of February 24, 2022. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
Warrants
On February 4, 2022 at 6 p.m., Belleville police arrested a male who was currently wanted on two outstanding arrest warrants. Forty-six-year-old James Hearns was arrested on two outstanding warrants for fail to attend for fingerprints and fail to attend court. Hearns was released with a February 24, 2022 court date.
Impaired Driver
On February 6, 2022, at approximatley 2 a.m., Belleville police observed a vehicle speeding in the west end of the city. A traffic stop was conducted and after investigation it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. As a result, 31-year-old Joseph Soule of Brighton was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle with over 80mgs. Soule was released on an undertaking with a court date of March 3, 2022.
Domestic Assault
On February 6, 2022 at 10:12 p.m., Belleville police attended an east end residence for a domestic dispute. As a result of investigation police arrested an intoxicated male for domestic assault. A 57-year- old Belleville resident was charged with one count of domestic assault and released with a court date for March 7, 2022. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
