A long-time Prince Edward County councillor says she intends to run for mayor this fall.
Dianne O’Brien says she has talked to her family, friends, and many residents and she has her eyes set on this fall’s municipal election.
“My 12 years experience on council leads me to believe there are several areas we can improve. I intend to listen to the taxpayers and offer a platform that addresses support for local businesses, tourism, the housing shortage and more. I will release my full platform by May.”
O’Brien served as Interim Mayor for the County of Prince Edward, when Robert Quaiff left municipal politics to run in the 2018 Provincial Election for the Ontario Liberal Party.
In 2018, O’Brien ran for mayor, but lost to current Mayor Steve Ferguson (4,981 votes to 4,043 votes)
Ontario’s Municipal Election is October 24, 2022.
