Belleville police responded to 69 calls for service between 5 a.m. on February 3, 2022 and 5 a.m. on February 4, 2022.
Break and Enter
On February 3, 2022 at 9 a.m., Belleville police were dispatched to a business on Moira Street regarding a break and enter which had occurred the previous evening. A check of the building was conducted and no suspects were located at that time. Throughout the day police were called to the building three times for reports of an unknown person leaving the building and alarms. At 7:30 p.m. officers were called back to the business with the assistance of the Belleville police K9 unit. This search resulted in a 36-year-old male Belleville resident being located inside the business. The male was arrested and charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property, possession of break-in tools, breach of the probation and possession of narcotics. The male was held for a bail hearing on February 4, 2022.
Domestic Dispute
On February 4, 2022 at 1 a.m., Belleville police officers were called to a Front Street residence regarding a domestic dispute. Officers arrived on scene and learned that one of the involved parties had had been threatened with a pair of scissors. As a result, a 34-year-old female Belleville resident was charged with uttering threats and was released with a February 28, 2022 court date. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
