Belleville police responded to 69 calls for service between 5 a.m. on February 2, 2022 and 5 a.m. on February 3, 2022.
Thefts of Catalytic Converter
The Belleville Police Service is investigating two separate thefts of catalytic converters over the last 24 hours. On February 2, 2022 at 8:10 a.m., Belleville police attended a business on Maitland Drive regarding the theft of a catalytic converter. Investigation into the theft revealed that sometime overnight a catalytic converter was removed from a work vehicle.
In the second call for service on February 2, 2022 at 1:45 p.m., Belleville police attended a business on Hanna Court regarding the theft of two catalytic converters. Investigation into the theft revealed that sometime over the last few days, two catalytic converters were cut off two of their vehicles.

Domestic Assault
On February 2, 2022 at 9:00 p.m., Belleville police responded to a Front Street address for a domestic, occurring in the vestibule of a business. Investigation into the reported domestic revealed that a 58-year-old male Deseronto resident had assaulted his girlfriend. He was arrested for domestic assault and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for a bail hearing on the February 3, 2022. The name of the arrested male is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
