On February 1, 2022 at 6:40 p.m., Belleville police responded to the Quinte Mall regarding a stolen motor vehicle.
Police learned that at approximately 3:30 p.m. an unknown suspect stole a 2021 Kia Crossover from the Quinte Mall parking lot.
Later in the evening, the Belleville Police Service was notified by Central Hastings OPP that they had located the vehicle and had a 35-year-old male Belleville resident James Ferguson in custody for the theft.
Ferguson was held for a bail hearing on February 2, 2022 by Centre Hastings OPP.
