It appears the construction business is booming in the municipality of Hastings Highlands.
The municipality is just north of Bancroft and officials say 2021 was a record setting construction year.
They compared it to 2019 and saw a 43% climb, in total value of work, to $19.36 million.
In total there were 40 new premises, along with upgrades to Maynooth Public School and the municipal office.
There was a 31% increase in building permits, and 21% jump in new dwellings.
Mayor Tracy Hagar says to see this kind of jump during a pandemic, proves that people are ready to invest and develop in Hastings Highlands.
