A Quinte West woman faces several impaired and endangering child charges after a traffic stop in Trenton Sunday evening.
Quinte West OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 2, headed east from Brighton towards Trenton.
Further complaints came in about a vehicle striking a wall and a parked vehicle on Parkview Heights.
Officers stopped the suspect vehicle on Marmora Street and arrested the driver who was showing signs of impairment.
Two children in the vehicle were unharmed.
A 28-year-old woman faces the following charges:
- Operation while impaired;
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
- Dangerous operation;
- Endangering child – two counts;
- Resist Peace Officer;
- Fail to remain;
- Fail to report accident; and
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
She was held for a bail hearing Monday.
Additionally, her licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
