Belleville’s Zoe Uens has been selected by Hockey Canada to participate in the National Women’s Under 18 Team Summer Development Camp in Calgary.
Uens is one of 23 “NextGen” athletes who have the opportunity to get familiar with Canada’s National Women’s Program. They will practice and play games against both Under 18 teams at the Calgary camp.
The Summer Showcase roster represents a group of athletes who attended Canada’s National Under 18 virtual summer camp last season. They weren’t able to participate in on-ice activities due to the pandemic.
The 18-year-old Uens is a graduate of Eastside Secondary School and will attend Quinnipiac University in Hamden Connecticut in the fall. She will play for the Bobcats where she will be a teammate of Belleville’s Alexa Hoskin.
Uens currently plays defence for the Kingston Junior Ice Wolves of the Provincial Women’s Hockey League.
