Local animal lovers celebrated what would have been Betty White’s 100th birthday this week by supporting the Humane Society.
The Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward received $23,711 worth of donations.
After White’s passing last month, people were urged to honour the comedic legend by donating to local animal shelters for her birthday on January 17.
HSHPE Communications and Marketing Manager Anne Munro says among the donations were a $1,000 gift from Lange & Fetter Ford in Trenton and $1,810 from a raffle that had items donated by Melissa, one of their supporters.
